Employers would be well served hiring based upon knowledge and skills, keeping in mind that a degree reflects attainment of some knowledge and skills, and that people acquire knowledge and skills in many ways not just at school. A lot of jobs requiring no degree are filled by degreed individuals because they are better than the jobs their degrees could get them.
